Okudaira Nobumasa (奥平 信昌), also known as Okudaira Sadamasa (奥平 貞昌), was a former Takeda retainer and Tokugawa daimyō.
Biography[]
Okudaira Sadamasa is noted for his tenacious defense of Nagashino Castle in 1575, an event that precipitated the Battle of Nagashino.[1]
In 1584, during the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute, Okudaira Nobumasa, accompanied by Matsudaira Ietada and Sakai Tadatsugu, conducted a dawn assault on Mori Nagayoshi’s headquarters at Hachimanbayashi. Nobumasa followed with a vigorous arquebus volley and a spirited charge, while Sakai Tadatsugu executed a flanking maneuver against the rear of the enemy position.[2]
In 1590, he was granted the fief of Miyazaki in Kōzuke Province, worth 30,000 koku.[3]
