The Battle of Azukizaka of 1542 in Mikawa province was one of the many battles between Oda Nobuhide and Imagawa Yoshimoto.
Background[]
After the Siege of Hanagura Castle, Imagawa Yoshimoto's next and most troublesome enemy was Oda Nobuhide of Owari province.[1]
Battle[]
In 1542, Imagawa Yoshimoto advanced into Owari province and met Oda Nobuhide in battle at the first battle of Azukizaka were Imagawa Yoshimoto was defeated.[2]
Aftermath[]
After the battle, Oda Nobuhide titled seven of his generals, whom he considered have performed greatly during the battle of Azukizaka. These generals were titled The Seven Spearmen of Azukizaka.
A few months after his victory, Oda Nobuhide followed up an attack on the Imagawa fortress of Euno.[3]
