Akechi Hidemitsu was a senior retainer of Oda Nobunaga's vassal Akechi Mitsuhide, he served Mitsuhide until the latter's death in 1582 at the hands of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

Great Bay: One of Akechi Hidemitsu's favorite horses. After the Incident at Honnoji, Hidemitsu was given Azuchi castle. When he heard about Mitsuhide's defeat at Yamazaki, Hidemitsu escaped with this horse.[1]
